The Mind Is A Dangerous Place

Things that should boggle the mind but do not

I know its really been a while, well, my comp got hit by a virus and I lost everything. Everything. All the songs, movies and stuff. Feel my pain?

Dedicated to phexius

There was a girl who thought some thoughts
In fact she thought so many thoughts
Some big some small, some good some not
Of dreams and fortunes, she thought a lot
She thought of the damsels and dragons they fought
Adventures and treasures, romances she sought
This girl she thought, she thought these thoughts
Of people of sorts, somebody she's not
Sometimes this girl she even forgot
She was just a girl who thought some thoughts
Who was taught her thoughts did not count for a lot
And made the grown ups rather distraught
That she somehow forgot all the thoughts that they taught
So they met to plan, to think and to plot
This girl was caught, and then she was brought
To a doc who promised a magical shot
That would put a stop to such frivolous thoughts
Little girl thoughts of an unseemly sort
The grown ups they soothed, cajoled and they talked
They promised her ice cream to take that shot
A foolproof solution, a singular drop
Would help the girl's thoughts adjust to their lot
'Nay!' cried the girl who adored her thoughts
She knew of their scheme to let her thoughts rot
She bit and she clawed, she roared and she fought
But the hands held her steady, and soon the girl stopped
Exhausted and weary, it wasn't her fault
When the needlepoint entered and made her world drop
Into black as a blot, while the grown ups they talked
They talked and they taught, like ravens they cawed
They stopped and they trod, stomped onto her thoughts
A little girl's thoughts of an unseemly sort
And when all was done and the damage was wrought
They let the girl go, watched as the girl walked
They knew they had won, they sang and they roared
But the cheers fell short, when the little girl talked
She talked of stories most people forgot
Of clocks and of corks, of herons and storks
She spoke of the damsels and the dragons they fought
Little girl thoughts, some good some not
The grown ups were shocked, now very distraught
They uttered no sound, no words, no thoughts
Their path was blocked, their plan had been stopped
By a girl that grinned and talked a lot
They left her then, no more they fought
To the sort of thoughts the little girl thought
Like dreams and snowdrops, wishes and spots
The Emperor penguin and its belly-flops
Or how the world could do with more dots
Through this she grinned and she laughed and she thought
Of little girl thoughts
Of a fancy sort

The End
