The Mind Is A Dangerous Place

Things that should boggle the mind but do not

I sit here, listening to Jobim sway my night away, and realise after much thought, that I did have a good week.

There were dinners, big dinners and small. Sofia's with some of the girls was as usual, fun. Rat never got her calamari rings. So sad.

Then there was the concert on Saturday night. A free concert thanks to Vale who had free ticks to it. Telescholars (I think thats how they are spelt) was on and they were a very tight ensemble. Just 10 singers, but with oh so lovely voices. Utterly divine. Problem was their repetoire, which consisted of Baroque and Renaissance pieces that seemed to be self-perpetuating. They were pretty... er... boring at times. Very lovely, but forgettable im afraid. Gimme Yoko Kanno anyday... which I got. Cause she made the soundtrack to Ragnarok Online 2 and boy, was I ever blown away by her uniqueness once more. It is awesome.

Anywaes, Lib came back that Saturday and so I went over to Rats place (where she was staying) and hung out there for a tick. Really good to see/talk to her again. Have missed her dearly.

Next day trudged over in the 38 degree arvo to Jen's place for lunch at a pizza place which served fab pizza. Smoked salmon and bruschetta. Yummies. After that, hung out at Borders to see chicks... er... read, then to Ling Nam for DEREKS BDAY!

In which case,

happy bday bub.

That done, hope it's a good year ahead. In fact, pray its a good year ahead. You'll need. I most certainly damn will need it.

Dinner was fun, done and finished, and we headed to a junkyard bar for some drinks. Was a good place... if funnily arranged. In a backyard. But it had good music. No good drinks though. Charlton after that for pool (which I suck in) and Foosball (which I am rather good if I dun spin the handles... for some reason, thats not allowed).

All in all a good night. With good frens. And I am glad.

Today, I spend the entire day on the couch, watching DVDS. And I am glad too. Watched Sympathy for Lady Vengeance which was crazy good, Hard Candy which was psychotic good, and Kenny which was such a feelgood piece.

So, yeah. Im happy. Im glad. No angst today. No shit to throw. Though tmw. Ah tmw. Boss boss and boss boss boss coming in.

Then you might see a not-as-happy me. We'll see.
