Woot... im fitting into work pretty snugly. I even get to choose music now ;) And uptown girl really does bring up productivity... at least for me.
Dad came home from Singapore today. With DVDs. A pirated Tag Hauer watch. And perfumes. And covers for my fone! IT IS REBORN ONCE AGAIN.... MUHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

Soccer tonight. At 430am. Gonna be the last soccer match for a while. Let's go!

And lastly,

HAPPY BDAY BECKY!!!! Always one of the stars of my life, always missed, always loved. Happy Bday, with many many flowers and happy returns (wateverthatactuallymeans) and yeah... STOP SLOUCHING!!!

OMG... there's an ultraman movie... and boy is he fugly!
I mean, come on... simple is best yeah? Wat's with all those protrusions? Sigh.. another love of my life gone to dust.
There are other interesting Jap films. There's Casshern, which was pretty good. Gorgeous cg and a very layered, if a little TOO layered, story. Strong character development and action-packed.
Battle Royale, of course, is a landmark in story-telling. Violent, thought-provoking and ultimately great stuff.
And if it's possible, try to catch Zatoichi and Brother, both directed and acted by Takeshi Kitano. Good stuff... all of them.

Another uneventful day... working at the store and learning how kiddish my co-workers can be. It's quite mentally draining to work there actually. I don't know why exactly. Also, saw a chio girl on the way to work. Too bad she's like... 16 or less.

Other than that... nuttin worth mentioning. Other than the fact of me buying the Star Wars Episode 3 soundtrack. It's pretty good... though the End Credits theme is a little too damn long!

And here we are. In a galaxy far far away. The last of the prequels, where the end brings us to the beginning of a new hope.

Yes, I went to watch STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE NERDS... ah... SITH. Dammit, I must stop thinking that. Anyways, watched it at Hoyts with frens, along with the other few thousand fans that beseiged the cinema. Nothing like a little hype to get the more revenue.

And the verdict? Well... in terms of story, it aint bad. Much much better than the first two, cause it actually had a story. These things DO matter.
It is a technological achievement in cg/film making. Meaning the show is pretty damn beautiful. After the thunderous opening (amidst applause, hoots and a howler monkey.. and im not making this up, somebody really was making the sound of a howler monkey), the movie opened up to a giant landscape of colours and detail. Everything was there, up to the smallest parts. You see battleships exploding, fighting everywhere, chaos at every corner. It was all there in full cg glory. I cannot fault their technical wizardry.

That done, we shall move on to unhappier matters. Namely, Hayden/Anakin. I HATE HIM. He is probably the worst actor I have ever seen in a film. He simply CANNOT act. He mumbles his lines, there is no emotion in his words, he is stiff (unless flying and somersaulting), basically, he sucks. I can see why Lucas casted him, angst-filled dumbass jock.
And Mr Lucas has destroyed watever myth I ever had about the Emperor and Yoda... once again. The Emperor, the old Dark Lord of the Sith, can do M.Bison's psycho-crusher, and fly and somersault. His lightning sucks ass. He's BLOODY USELESS for the ruler of an empire.
And Yoda... does his monkey thing again. Sigh. And the guy made that monkey call during that scene.
Wat else.... cameo appearances are NOT cool. And I thought Anakin's spiral into the dark side was a little quick. Very quick in fact. And finally (my fren picked this out), the lightsabres were damn bright, so you don't really wat's happening during fights. And the fights!!!! ARGH. All this fast and furious fighting... with acrobatics... that's the thing. They are fast-paced but hold little meaning. Nobody expects old Jedi to fight like that? No... they want their Jedi Masters to be calm, fighting with their wills and strategies. Not... blazen button mashing. Sigh.

On the plus side. I loved the music. John Williams has outdone himself here. Not original stuff, but re-arranged wonders of the old themes. Pure magic. I am SO getting that.

And that's that. Did I mention I HATE Arsenal?
