It's Abraham's dilemma
To kill the one you love
To please his God above
It's a sentimental thing
It's the garden inside Eden
You try to set aflame
You can't find the snake to blame
It's a sentimental thing
And the burdens of forever
Eat the moments of before
Still I mess up at the door
Oh no, it's a sentimental thing
Telling tales by the roadside
In the fire in the flames
Denying air beyond the natural
Yet still bringing out names
Another year of sorrow
Perhaps one more of pain
And when I look into tomorrow
I can't remember those names
The one thing of a mystery
It leaves us all behind
And gives us clues to find
It's a sentimental thing
And maybe there's a bright light
In a tunnel deep down below
Don't ask me I don't know
Oh no, it's a sentimental thing
It's a sentimental thing
I survive one more year.
