The Mind Is A Dangerous Place

Things that should boggle the mind but do not

Wonderful days

A boy walks alone
His eyes they see no more
His hands were closed upon
A wish for life before

The star saw the boy
It wondered why he cried
"Child what caused you pain?
Who hurt, who fought, who died?"

The boy closed his sightless eyes
His voice rang out to say
"The skies have turned red
The Mother is dead
But we won, we won today."

The world was young and still
Was peaceful for quite a while
The people laughed and played
and the Mother watches and smiles

But that was soon to past
We should have seen a sign
Now the children scream out for
A woman we left behind

Then walls were built and kept
The world was not the same
And the children were made to fight
For all of Mankind's delight
A voice screams out their names

The Mother held my hand
She said that she did understand
And right before she died
She whispered "We tried"
And I roam all alone in these lands

The star cried along
Its tears, like angels, fall
It weeps a lonely tune
For a Mother, a boy and before
