I suppose I should blog about manifest.
And you know what... that's what I will do!
So I crashed into Uni at about 930 with my sis, meaning I had to get up at a ripe ole time of 7 to wash up, change, have brekkie. Temperature was... cold. It got colder later in the day but thats for... later.
Anywaes, getting our passes finished quickly. Ok... that made totally no sense at all. Just like answer the question "Did you make those costumes yourselves?" with "No, we made them together by ourselves..."
So let's rewind.
The getting of passes was efficient. We received the plastic hanging things 5 minutes after the doors opened. Sis enjoyed watching all the cosplayers standing about.
Then we entered the traders hall, which frankly speaking, wasnt very enticing. But somehow, I still managed to spend shitloads of moola at the end of the day.
Left that place after getting a small Kyo keychain which was rather cute. My sis bought some stuff as well. But the real goods were found at the artists section. Oh yes, beautiful artwork abound I tell you.
Check out Kimiko and Alicia-chan. Stuff of gold I tell ya. Spent a bit there as well and introed all who came to it.
Then met up with the gang and watched the AMV exhibition which showed really first class music videos. Excellent music and editing from most of the pieces. The skills man.
Bothered Shamim at the Go room, and tried to take away their donated Hikaru no Go book, which was stunning. Sigh. I HEART Hikaru no Go book. Tried to trade a box of 20 Pocky for it. They didn't bite. Pocky still at home. 10 left.
Ok, lined up for cosplay comp 45 minutes b4 showtime, at which I was pissed at the many ways pple could sneak into the venue. The doors opened. The stampede began. We were crushed against the tide of somewhat smelly pple, desperate to push little Stef thru. She had to make it, cause she was small enuff, and had the best camera. In the end though, we all made it. And got decent seats too.
So... to cosplaying and here are some pple which I thought were interesting.
This is Ash, who's a really good cosplayer. Her wings took at least 12 hours to make. Talk about dedication.
Lei Lei is a character from Darkstalkers and really is a piece of work. Her claws were used effectively later in the show when she started a waving phenomenon during a singing piece.
A panda willing to dance for food. No... you dun understand. It is a PANDA WILLING TO DANCE FOR FOOD.
For the boys out there...
And for the boys out there ;)
As said before, spent loads of money, got myselfa macross plus dvd and my sister a totoro cushion thing.
next... dropped sis off home and went back to the city with fren Peter. There we had some Korean food which was ok but somewhat spoilt by the atrocious service. And the PRICE. OMG. 5 bloody ducks were cheaper than that. Sigh... bye money.
Night was spent with the usual 2, and Neth, Peter, girl Cecil and me went driving to find a restaurant that opened at 2am. The plan of BBNT burgers failed so we went to Chapel Street where a famous 24hour diner was.
It was expensive. Yet again, goodbye money.
That done, went back to Neth's place and slept the night away.
And that's it, my Manifest Sunday which was quite tiring. Having a sore throat and slight fever didn't help much as well. The looming assigment due date is scaring me a bit as well. I need to buy more presents too, thus spending more money.
In the words of Pedro of Excel Saga... "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Goodnight sweet gents and ladies. I leave you with my own cosplay.
Meet EePin. The Insect Fairy
