Right. It's been a while. It's been a long, long while. So long, that I can see the mold grow from between posts. Electronic mold! That glow green in the dark. They get their food that way you see.
But I digress. Oh how I digress. Like an Egress on a diet.
The month of October has not been particularly good to me. It is full of work in the morning, then home, then assignment in the night. Then sleep, then work in the morning, then home, then assignment in the night. You get the picture? Essays will kill me soon.
But then, there is..... anime. Sweet sweet anime. I shall use this blog to introduce you to really lovely animes that I have watched this month. And believe me, I've watched very many this month.
Planet ES is really, really good. A simple premise surrounds the story. It is the Year 2075, and space development has allowed Man to reach Mars. Terraforming and the such allows for alternate fuel sources to be found. However, because of such development, there is a lot of space debris floating about, posing a threat to people. The show revolves about the lives of these space debris haulers.
The show is episodic in nature in the beginning, with every story seemingly trivial in the larger plot. But when things begin to heat, they heat up. This becomes very involving stuff, firstly because of its realism, then of its characters who grow and demonstrate the very conflicts usually found in situations like this.
10 out of 10. Really damn good.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a poignant film that tugs at the heart subtly. High school girl Makoto Kono gains the ability to go back into Time. With that realisation, she decides to go back to right the wrongs and make things right. However, she forgets the people that are hurt in the process. She forgets that some things are only found in that single moment. It's a beautiful film with lush animation, music, and the emotions in the story will make u shed that single tear. Or bawl... whichever comes first.
10 out of 10. Watch now.
And finally, I end with this.
How does one watch a show like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann? How can one even describe its awesomeness? This offering by Gainax, ladies and gents, is simply of the best animes I've seen in years. It is a masterpiece. It is EPIC. Believe me when I say it is EPIC. Animation is top-notch, story, while simple, is brilliant! And the GARness of the show is just... awe-inducing. I'm running out of adjectives. So I shall end with this.
WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
